Download Creatures on the Loose #10

Kull of Atlantis or Kull the Conqueror is a fictional character created by American writer Robert E. Howard, also creator of Conan the Barbarian, Solomon Kane, and Bran Mak Morn. The character was more introspective than the subsequent Conan, whose first appearance was in a re-write of a rejected Kull story.

His first published appearance was "The Shadow Kingdom" in Weird Tales (August, 1929). Kull was portrayed in the 1997 movie Kull the Conqueror by actor Kevin Sorbo.

  1. It's interesting to read Wrightson's account of the production of this story in the collection of his art called "A Look Back".

Bernie had the idea for the color to drain out as the sound drained out, and it was originally colored that way, but was recolored before printing without Wrightson's knowledge or consent.

That's why he never worked much for Marvel after that.

  3. HELP!!!! I'm looking for a couple of short stories I read either in marvel comics or DC comics back in the very early 80's. can you please tell me in wich comics can I find the following stories? thanks

    1) short story ,probably 1 page, no dialogue , kind of like a poem or prose, the art was about this warrior king riding a horse into the sea until he dissappears under the sea.the end.
the most interesting thing is if I reminder correctly the above story was above King Kull ..did the writer/artist misunderstood what it meant going back to Atlantis?

    2) short story, probably 1 page , medieval knight has to kill a dragon that nobody has been able to kill , he finally kills it, the twist is that whoever killed the dragon would become the dragon himself.the end.

3)short story few pages long abut a writer/artist who has decided he doesnt want to do anymore of his stories ,somehow the barbarian is trasnported to our reality and slays his writer/creator, at the end of the story the barbarian makes a comment among the line that he just killed his most powerful enemy.

  4. The first two stories you described don't ring any bells, but that last one sounds like "The Sword and the Sorcerers!" from Chamber of Darkness #4, which is uploaded on this very blog.

Simply type in "Chamber of Darkness" in the search engine located in the upper left corner and it will take you right to it. At least I hope that's the story you're thinking of!
