Weird Western Tales (El Diablo) #12-13, 15

Weird Western Tales is a Western genre comic book title published by DC Comics which ran from June-July 1972 to August 1980. It is perhaps best known for featuring the adventures of Jonah Hex until #38 (1977) when the character was promoted to his own eponymous series. Scalphunter then took Hex's place as the featured character in Weird Western Tales.

The original title ran for 8 years and 59 issues. It started with issue #12, because it continued the numbering from the second volume of All-Star Western. It was published on a bi-monthly basis before achieving monthly publication with the November 1978 issue (#49).

Each issue has Neal Adams art, of course. Please feel free to download.

Our Army At War #240: "Another Time, Another Place"

Download Our Army At War #240

Here's another war story that's superbly drawn by Neal Adams called "Another Time, Another Place." The story is written by Bob Haney and this time out it's a science fiction tale, which is a parable about the bitter ironies in war. I know that Neal Adams also drew stories for Our Army at War #182, 183 and 186, but I don't have any scanned copies of those issues available for uploading at the moment.

Weird War Tales #8: "Thou Shalt Not Kill!"

Download Weird War Tales #08

I loved Weird War Tales back in the 1970s as it combined two of my favorite genres: war and horror. Of course, it can easily be argued that war is horror, but I mean horror in the occult and mystical sense. Weird War Tales had a lot of dud stories, but I found it worth the effort to wade through these to find the gems. Those gems were usually written by Jack Oleck and drawn by Alen Nino, but this time out we're treated to a story that's written by Steve Harper and drawn by Neal Adams called "Thou Shalt Not Kill!'"Adams also drew the cover. I have most if not all of the first 50 or so issues of Weird War Tales, so I'll be uploading more as time permits.
